Wen i had my kit n new wheels put on my bumpers rubbed on the wheels front n back... so the guys got new brackets n moved the bumper slightly...

I sooo wana lower her only bout 30-35mm.... do u think i'll b able 2? On the back there is bout 5mm gap between the wheels n the back bumper! But i got loads of arch space i think!

Or do u think i shud get 195/40/15 tyres... coz i got 50/15's on there at the mo....

Help me please!!!!

I cud always get the springs... n if it dont work out kindly ask the guys 2 put it all back 2 normal again! But i dont think they will b 2 pleased wiv that! :P

It doesn't sound to me like you should have a problem as the wheels move up and down not left and right! But a few pics would really help us to get a better picture of what problems you may encounter as I dont know what kind of kit you have on it.

I've jus been thinkin... an ignore me bout the tyres... they wont make ne difference! ha ha! avin a bit of a girly moment there! :D

I aint got ne pics which really show the wheels... i'll try n take some this weekend so u can see the amount of arch space i got! (enuf 2 fit another wheel in on top i think!!!!!!)

Is it an rt? On my rt i lowered it shit loads at the back and it only just missed the rear arch, occasionally scrubbing with say 4 peeps in it. :)

They were 16" wheels though and 7" wide :P

Clio b

Yeah its an RT but the main problem is the wheels clearin the kit... wiv no kit obvoiously it wud b alrite... but the way the bumpers r shaped the damn things rub! like i said they rubbed on the wheels wen i got it back!

I think i'm jus gona go 4 it... if it dont work out my mechanics will jus av 2 put it all back 2 normal!!!

yeah do that, its only 40 quid for springs for 35 mm and if u 'ask' them nice sure it wont cost out to put it back if its too scrubby!!

Suck it and see.

Esay enough to change again if it scrubs, seeing as they'd of free'd everything up fitting springs lowering torsion bar.

I jus foudn this on another site... does it sound right to you guys?!?!

"ive done it loads of times on my old clio rt. i never took the rear daampers off, the only benifit of that is it make it easier to move the trailing arm and hold it in place but then youve gota compress it slightly to put it back on, if its alot stiffer than standard then itl be a pain, but as youve goota change them anyway you may aswell take them off while you adjust it all. jus take the wheels off and stick the rear up on axel stands, take the cove of the torsion bar and draw it out using the slide hammer, move the trailing ar to the required lower position (measure from the centre of the hub to the arch before and after to make sure its right and then rotate the torsion bar until it goes back in. repeat this on the other side and jobs done"

Gav
07-02-2006, 18:29
clio b torsion is easy, u dont need to know how to do it because you wont be doing it yourself and the people u get to do it will know already.

im sure someone on here will do it if ur garage guys wont.......i done mine in 30 mins, used the bolt n thread method tho not the slide hammer cuz there shite, they just knock the dirt of ur inside arch
