finally January is over and i can have a short month and get my finances back on track.........or not

PC Plod stopped me tonight on the way home from the g/f's, the only traffic cop in St Helens with a light meter

I wasnt bothered as my tints are very very light, you can see through them easily

He tested them though and it said otherwise, only 35% light coming through.........£30 fine for me

It has completely amazed me, and im now wondering if its possible to do the test backwards, if in fact my windows let more light in ?

However ive read about on the net...

"Glass does not let in 100% of light. Clear glass only allows approximately 86% of light to pass & the slight tint of standard manufactured glass varies from the 70% maximum limit up to approx 80% of light passing through, thus any film being applied to these windows will drop the light transmissions to below the regulation limit. "

another of my mates was caught with that the other day.
pimps and dealers have privacy glass.. the climate in the uk doesnt warrant it ..lol j/k

pay it and remove them to avoid another run in with the pigs.

Unlucky, but being stopped once in a year isn't bad and its not like he asked for them to be removed...look on the brightside! :)

gunner what happens if u get stopped for dark windows that were already on the car, would it still not matter, u get the fine anyway?

just wonderin mate coz i have really dark windows but they were fited before i bought them, i didnt know wether they would give u the chance to have them removed before they fine u

no they dont

u33db had the tints fitted to the car prior to me buying it, which i told the copper, still gave me a £30 fine though

don't u think tints are a bit....... chav ? :lol: :lol: if you want the breadvan look go for a CTR

thats shitty mate, shud get first warning or summit for em if they are illegal. same as using front fogs, asked gibbo tother nite n turns out they slap a 30 quid fine on u for that, no warning or nuthin!!! :(

SO TRUE LOL i had to do mine at the side off the road. Got me off the £30 fine though lol
