brakes fluid will be fine mate...I'd be more worried about cooking the pads tbh. I not sure how many big stops there are at thruxton but generally I've had no problems with brakes at donny, oulton or anglesey.

what about tyres??

Martin

some good uprated pads would help out and are'nt too expensive although I believe a few guys off here have used stnd and been fine...Maybe kill these pads then buy uprated next time? Some good road tyres are all you need IMO...

I agree wth martin. Get some good road tyres on and kill your std pads. Your first couple of gos on track you won't be hammering it that much I'd say as it's a steep learning curve.

Just make sure your pads have a decent amount of life left in them first. Much less than half gone, and I'd chuck some new ones in. See how they go, and if they're crap, get some Ferodo, Pagid, etc for next time. As the other guys say, road tyres will be fine.

Thruxton if a very quick circuit. The back straight, with the very fast corner, church, leads up to a slow chicane, so your brakes will get a beating there. And perhaps quite hard into the Complex. But other than that, it shouldn't be too hard on them.

When is this anyway? And how much? I'm only down the road from Thruxton :)

That's a lot mate! A full day track day is about that much. Are you sure it's that much?

Yeah, find out mate. I can't imagine it would be that much. Although it's not a proper circuit, we've got an hour session at Bruntingthorpe for FCS and it's £45.

testing days are usually cheaper than track days as there run in the week plus there no limits as to what you find you can find a Formula race cars doing test driving etc there no rule about road legal etc though. However rule can be different on testing days.
£130 stupid money you can get a whole day for that price at the weekend.

A lot of race series stipulate you must use road legal tyres, so I's have thought a test day would allow road tyres?

its not the actual tyres i was told about its the car itself, from what i was told its competiton cars only, not normal road cars as said im not 100% sure on this as ive never tryed doing a testing day
