Naples is finally finished boys n gals, just in time for pod. Had a idle prob like coops, but didnt have a clue how to fix it so i sent it in to a engine tuning place £80 later sorted. That was the only thing it failed MOT on, get it there tomorrow, pass, and be at POD sunday

Goin to dancliovalvers and LaurenGTI's saturday so some pics to come and vids if i find out how....but dam, does she fly!

Obviously my old engine was allways shite so never felt the real power of a valver plus zorst was shot to shit, but new engine, gearbox zorst and every other ****er held in by a bolt later its rapid

cant wait to see u all sunday

long live the naples :D

what was your idle prob mate ?

and the fix ?

Coops
27-01-2006, 01:01
revs were erratic on start up, sometimes 2000 sometimes 4k n anywhere in between and always rising from that already well high base!

re earthed the speedo cable n spent a good 30 mins with wd40 and a cotton bud working the ISCV shutter back and forth after spending 2 hrs with the carb cleaner n eventually it moved smoothly!!!

sits at 950-1000rpm all the way without shiftin or glitchin atall!! :D

Gav
27-01-2006, 10:05
my idle prob was that it couldnt keep revs, it would start then stop, just kept cutting out

my icv was ****ed and something to do with my wires on my cat. Oxygen control valve was screwed

so all that sorted and purrs like a kitten :D

27-01-2006, 22:37
sorry boys n girls, car failed MOT once again, due to one tiny fookin bolt. The bottom ball joint retaining joint bolt - was too short, didnt fit into lockin bolt secure so failed the car classed it as a hazard to drive and now i have to pay for a full MOT which he cant get me in until tuesday, so once again, no car, no pod and no dan n loz's

****in naples! Bollox, worse colour in the world, never had this shit with my black one

Gav
27-01-2006, 22:47
that was done somewhere else, took to one place, failed on emissions, got that sorted then went to this other place and he failed it on the bolt...cant spend another £40 i'll have nothing left plus they may find something to moan about also.

Just gotta raise my hands in defeat

take it 2 a council MOT bay!....they cant fix any problems 4 ya they can only MOT it, but there not gona screw u by sayin this n that need fixin wen they dont 2 get money outa ya cuz they dont do anythin but MOTs!

matty
02-02-2006, 20:36
Taking it to a place that will pass it regardless of condition defeats the object of an MOT IMO.

Wouldn't you guys rather find faults and get them fixed than get them passed and find out at motorway speeds....
