de-cat bolts

i am putting on my de-cat this weekend and the 4 bolts that hold it on are so rusted i will have to get new ones coz i reckon they won't go back on again... excuse me if i am being thick but can you use any old bolts that fit or do you have to buy proper ones that can cope with the heat :? :? :?
any help will be greatly received

no had my mot in november i have just brought the de-cat but because the cat has never been replaced the bolts are f****d :(

have u spayed them with some wd40?

just get some new ens, i think M6 are the right size and any old bolt will do

They are M8 bolts, you can just get away with 25mm lones, but ideally 35-40mm long.

I used to use normal BZP ones but they rusted solid after 12 months, so went and got some proper renault ones this time, cost me just under a fiver for the bolts and nuts, the nuts are made of a different metal to the bolts so hopefully won't rust this time :)

cover them on copper grease before you fit them and then waxoyl over them afterwards mate, has always worked a treat for me.

down to reno and get the right parts, i have taken my cat's and decats off about ten time with no bother, cause of the heat you are just running the risk of the crappy ones seizing, make sure you use a half inch socket not a 13mm as the half inch fits better.

mine are getting a tad rusty and i get them from work! been on pretty much sinbce i got car tho! :lol:
