well he's already talking bullshit in the auto trader add so i'd be a bit weary

"RENAULT Clio Williams Ltd Edition,
on a private plate (L3 WMS) very rare and unique, vehicle no.95 of only 250 ever manufactured, gold alloys, PAS and usual Williams spec, 12 months full MOT, free service and warranty, looks and drives immaculate. £2,995. . www.britannia-motors.co.uk"

Hmmmmm :-k

NO NO NO
This is the one I went all the way up north to look at !! It is a shed. Nearly every panel is marked - boot aint looking right at all - floors are soaked - rattles like a pig when running - not even worth 2k
he has it on his site for 2495 & in showroom for 2995.
car is NOT nice at all

I went to look as the guy was talking it up so much about years MOT etc yet when I got there they could not get it booked in so was only giving till march this year. I also pointed out the two prices but got nowhere with that either.

not as bad as all that shame really

paint is in a bad mess been tartted up

apart from that needs love and attention and could be a real nice car

good morning though cheers gaz and northy if nothing else sorted pod out lol

ziggymini
22-01-2006, 18:23
Well the one I just bought for £800 cheaper must be a stunner then because I really thought that was a shed...
Women must be more fussy then

Jaine

Andy
22-01-2006, 19:52
no one is a as fussy as me gaz and northy just need to look past bad points and luck at the pluses for someonme who wants a project would be ideal

ziggymini
22-01-2006, 20:03
OK the debate is on.......

The car is NOT as described - it is not tidy & there is a serious leak somewhere for both floorpans to be that wet! For 3k I would want a nice tidy example not one with a scratch from one end to the other on the drivers door - a wonky bootlid with a dent - a nasty paint job in most places etc etc.
As I said it is personal opinion & at 38 I have bought many cars including a 1956 Austin, 72 Beetle & 74 MGB gt as well as my 172 etc. The Austin was tidier than that.

I agree you always look past the bad points for a project but that is not really project money considering that gorgeous one that sold on here I was bidding for on e-bay.

Your comments

good god

end of the day its willy 1 on 70 k

the price is £2500 and that was negotiable needed alot of work and love not debating that but i have seen a hell of alot worse ....

ziggymini
22-01-2006, 21:44
Please note the smilies I am only joking - what is a forum without a good debate!!
Actually he wants 2999 & only money off if no new MOT. The price on his website is totally wrong unless of course he recieved my letter telling him the car was not a 3 grander.

Chill out or is a woman not allowed to argue the toss???

Stu.L
23-01-2006, 19:14
This is the thing, he asked me how much id see it for so i told him 2500 but according to autotrader its 3000. But when i asked him what he would take for it he started filling me in with the rare car, had loads of interest weve priced it to sell etc bull shit!! couldn't get an answer out of him! How long has he had it for sale do you know? :?

Andy
23-01-2006, 19:21

Stu.L
23-01-2006, 19:34

Il give it a while and then enquire.......

The guy told me it had been on forecourt for over 6 weeks. He had loads of interest & other dealers also lining up to buy it. Said the problem was the younger boys said they wanted it but could not insure it! When I asked for the lowest price he said hewould knock the MOT off the £2995 but that was all.

andy only said a few words to him lol....it would need the following doing in my eyes.

Full strip and exterior respray
refit front bumper
2 replacement rear door cards
2 replacement front door cards
replacement dash top
boot carpet in blue
parcel shelf
one original speedline wheel for the passenger front (prima copy fitted)
Drivers arch and tailgate sorting
New accelerator cable
New manifold heatshield

That's a lot of money's worth just there ^^^ . And that's only the cosmetic stuff. It may have driven ok, but if it was allowed to get into that state cosmetically, I can't imagine the car was looked after mechanically speaking either. Sounds like a huge money pit
