After engine transplant! wtf is going on (help!)

Hi

I have just got my engine transplant done in my clio 16v!

Drove it on a 10 mile thrash and then slowed down for a round about. As soon as the clutch went in the revs just dropped to 0 and of course made it stall. I then tried to start it with no luck! few mins later I got it going again (for a couple of secs) the revs went upto 3000 rpm then back to 0. I found I can drive it if I keep my foot on the throttle but that is just shite and hard! It was fine when started it from cold and was ok until i slowed down for the round about after the 10 miles.

Whats going on!

Oh and the oil temp guage went to just over 120! Is that normal or bad? It has 15 - 40 oil in it.

Ok today when it was started the idle was rough as fook!

Maybe another lcue to what it could be. Maybe related?

Don't know TBH...i'd be checking the usual sensors/ISCV etc

On another note, i'm getting a new engine soon...might be up for a comparision...? :wink:

I dont know much, but my oil temp doesnt seem to go over 60 - 100 degrees while driving normally (with a bit of thrashing in between).

120 sounds a bit hot?

120 is very hot, idle wish check all the earths

Try re setting the ECU as well

mine came out going over a speed bump much too fast,

shat myself for a second when it happened, jumped out, looked, cliped back on, sorted!

check ur air filter isnt wired up wrong

1 to the inlet
1 to the idol control valve

then again, it cant be that cuz upon start up it would rev its nackers off

ok, check that u have a strong pipe leading from ur air filter to ur idol control valve and that the air it is suckin in isnt crusing the pipe

Unfortunately, it could be anything if you have just had the engine out.
