Just had a look in the back of Evo magazine for Standard Clio Williams performance figures.

It quotes 0-100 time of 20s.......is this a realistic time?

if so why so slow?

nah mate, i'd say that's a way out, iirc that was in the wet, the valver got 21s...

more realistically I'd say 16-18 depending on the car itself, as we know some are freaks... thing is you don't really want a standard one anyway... they love mods ;)

stnd as in totally stnd not de-cat and exhaust I think 19 secs is realistic the 20.8 in evo must have been a tight low mileage car. I have loads of 1/4 miling slips for my car from previous owners..since it was rebuilt and had miles put on it's come down from 14.8 to 14.4 qtr and faster still now with more weight out.

16 seconds for a totally standard Williams

There are freaks about, but none are that freakish!

the quickest std willy has run 14.6 iirc, not sure on terminal, imagine it would be around 94ish or more

suppose its like when ppl claim 15/16 sec to 100 for a gti-6 lol, doubt it, as std std(t-total std) mine ran about 18/19sec to 100 couldnt tell u now what it is!

Whose car is that as far as I know 2lives was the fastest totally stnd williams 15.1 IIRC There is no way a stnd willy will run 14s!!

if a standard hybrid can get into the 14's, then so can a willy, same car, only difference seems to be that hybrid engines have usually been rebuilt or are far lower mileage. didn't andy get a 14.9 with no mods anyway?

Yup, that's right, 167bhp and 1215kg is what Peugeot quote. But with some standard ones getting under 15 second quarter mile times

sorry thought u said 0-100 but still lol

hybrids always have exhaust/de-cat and/or meggy btm ends...and usually weight out too... Andy did 14.98 with de-cat and rear bench out which is damn rapid....I can't see any stnd willy's doing that sort of time.

a decat could improve or slow you down... whenever I have ever put a decat on my car it has made it slower :? rear bench and seats i fair game i guess, but they dont weigh a great deal, 15kg most i would have though (for seats and bench that is... there's nothing to them).
megane bottom ends are the same again too, just low miles usually. i dont think mines any faster with one

well I don't know of any meggy btm end cars that are slow...

can anyone tell me if a de-cat shuld make any difference to performance ??? if so would it be noticeable :?: sorry to be thick but i am wanting one for my willy but only if it is worth it

some people have said it hasnt made a difference, same said it has, on mine when ive got the cat on after having the decat it feels flat esp at higher speeds, personally i prefer it on!

...Some people even reckon they make the car slower :o

But then some reckon a standard Williams will do a quarter mile in under 15-seconds and do 100 in 16

IN my experience de-cat is the best vfm mod I have done on any of my cars...I think it was Northy or Monkey that said adding a de-cat had the same affect as ditching a passenger in terms of performance.. I have got de-cats from my local powerflow dealer or lunner on here does them too.

yep...14.6 with de-cat and zorst on..std evrything else, only trim out was rear bench and carpet in boot.(left spare in doh!)

other than that..in completely standard trim, with seats and spare out, 14.800, but with shitty paper filter, cat and std zorst. narrowly beating nick reads 1800 nosd/stripped time of 14.08, and ben red16s cracking time of 14.9?.......the previous benchmark for the 2.0 clios down the strip.........mind , this was about 4 years ago

think the terminal of the 14.800 was about 94 ish.......so add a second or 2 , and itd b in the triple figuires easy......seeing as tho its just nicely in the power band of 4th gear too, so will still be pulling strong....so 16-17 secs is easily doable to 100 .

that's my point though, they wont be as slow as they are lower miles and newer. the lower miled willy engines are rarely in top condition sadly (talking over 10 years old now :( ). i bought mine with 56k FRSH, but wrong box, so it had a laboured easy life after that lol. megane one feels a bit tight at top end still, only has 28k if that, but it's no faster... yet
