Hi guys

How much pressure should you put in the willy tyres front and rear for 195/50/R15's?

Cheers - Deano

In winter I use 30 front 28 back.

will up it to 32 front and 30 back once it all warms up.

Cheers. Haven't driven the wee beasty in a while, and forgot what the psi should be!

I would stab them with a knife and get myself some proper 185 rubber

I was waiting for you to say that lol! When they need replacing, they will be replaced with 185's. Will I notice the difference?

Yes. Your car wont look gash for a start

It'll feel unstable when driven hard due to the softer sidewall.

 Yeah like a standard Williams is unstable?

For road use I tend to stick with 32psi front and 27psi rear. If its particularly wet I drop the fronts down to 30psi .

My so low in the rear Mark?

The rear end slides more naturally with lower pressures . When I'm using slicks I quite often drop down to 24psi in the rears and take the fronts up to about 34psi.

The rear becomes more progressive but you can really feel the difference in something even twitchier than the Clio . Try a 205gti with 24-26 psi in the rears and the vehicle is transformed . The on limit snappiness just disappears whilst still retaining great turn in.

So you get more movement at the back, but its more progressive? And therefore more controllable?

Yep , pretty much . For me it just seems better in every single way apart from slightly higher tyre wear.

If your driving a bumpy back road in the wet the extra cushion from the softer tyres means the car stays more planted meaning you can attack the road with a lot more confidence . In my experience anyway.

Well my car has sat in my garage for absolutely ages, and I decided to stick 32psi up front, and 30 in the rear (the rear had less than 5psi  ). Took it for a spin down to Maidstone on sunday, and it felt great. Roll on this weekend
