View Full Version : HELP!!! Damn Injectors!

was all going so well n all! got 90 percent of the rest of the engine together tonight n went to put fuel rail n injectors in and this is what i found in the bags!

the one on the right has the little orange spray nozzle missing, god knows where it is but i need a replacement ASAP!!! can i get just the end bit or do i need the whole new injector?! if anyone can help me pm me or respond to this asap as i need the part before i can get the engine runnin, n its sposed to be done for friday!no reason just when i want it done!

the part does come off on its own, looks like you've unclipped the metal retainer clip for the plug on the loom for the injector too

rest of them are attatched to loom i think!!just pulled em off without thinkin bout it TBH....doh bloody amatuer! :oops: so do i need three of them clips n all thanku please?

Callin all breakers!!! i need next day special delivery of:

- call it 4 retaining clips for injector plugs
- one of them little orange spray nozzles n the washer between it and the 'o'
ring on the bottom of injector!

check the loom forst as they should still be attached, then attach the other one sat round the injector

if you want new 'o' rings ive posted the Bosch part numbers on here at some point before, and the injector part number aswell

check the old ones for cracks, if not just re-use them if necessary smear a little grease on them if they are being a pain to go back in the head

dont u drop em in just off the boil water to supple em up?!

they are all fine BTW, had em off when took em out, not a crack in sight!!

the orange bit is called a pintle cap.

You can't get them off and re-use them unless you have the right tool, trust me on that one.

Use boiling water to soften the o-rings then roll them onto the injectors.

On teh subject of injectors how do you get them outa the fuel rail, couldn't see anythign to undo, so presumed you just pulled, but they weren't going anywhere with mild force and didn't wanna break them lol

hang on mofo, we talking about an rsi fuel rail now? you removed the plate that the screws secure?

if so they should come out with a bit of wiggling.

start of rotating it, if its been out and sat dry for a while you ned to lube it up a wee bit, silicone spary etc.

pull em mo fo, no danger!!! orang bit problem sorted, whole new injector!!! laffin!!! anyone with the right 'tool' want a perfectly good injector with no orange bit?!!! :D bearing in mind right 'tool' is just leave injector in head for 90 odd thousand miles n pull out?! :lol:

check out the top pic n all, see the top o ring on the right hand injector? its missing a chunk! guess where petrol leaked from just?!! answers on a postcard to....... :evil:
