On my hybrid :

It started about 3 weeks ago. When on the motorway doing a constant 80mph or whatever speed it rises from the 1/3mark to the 2/3mark, then falls sharply back to the 1/3mark, only to repeat this process. Cycle is about every 1-2mins.

Im thinking coolant temerature sensor or thermostat?

Anyone heard of this...and know the solution?

Cheers.

P.S Need to get this sorted if im drivng down to pod! 400 miles!!!

could be a knackered thermostat mate, aslong as it doesn't go over the 2/3's it should make it to pod :D

yeah its just prob not great for the coolant to get hotter then colder on and off! Would rather a constant temp! :)

cheers chris! (as always! )

Ill either get the std one or get one from reno.

The thermostat housing is on the right hand side of the head (looking from the bonnet at it) On the right hand side of the throttle body.

Ive no idea how to take it off and replace the thermostat mind you.....

I doubt its an air lock unless its a highly evolved and dangerous one bent on world domination.
