After speaking to a few people on here i can now offer the same kit as Mark Ritchspeed was offering last year.

Wilwood caliper
Pads
Brackets
Hoses

Only thing that i now need confirmation on is the price of machining for the aluminium bracket.

Once i get a final price i need a min of 5 people to confirm and pay in full. As i carnt afford to hold stock.

I am only doing one size as the 172 size destroys the handling with the extra weight of the larger disks.

Worked out without the cost of machining parts or delivery from various suppliers, and making the brake hoses up from universal parts about £410, but you will need to add the delivery and machining costs onto that asnd take away any discount nirthy manages to get

i worked it out to be 413.41 however that price didnt include discount(s) but did include brake discs at £55 which northy isnt including in his kit. i dont think rally design charge p&p tho esp when ur spending £300+

After some for my Valver to cope with imminent 2 litre mods.

Providing right caliper fitment for master cylinder bore and disc width. Will these be dynalites or midilites?

Northy I'll be interested in a couple of months, or if I can pay by cc then sooner!!!!

northy
14-02-2006, 09:23
er - its progressing well.

the calipers have been ordered and i have a block of unmachined aluminum on my desk.

matty
15-02-2006, 20:39
What calipers are they, midilite or dynalite?

Did you ever get to find master cylinder bore size in order to get closest match? I've not found this anywhere....

northy
16-02-2006, 08:56
Ive ordered the dynalite caliper.

Bore size - for one kit im testing a 1.75" bore.

You can never have too much clamin force.

Lunner
16-02-2006, 10:59
How come you decided to go with the Dynalite?

Midilite are ALOT easier to design the mounting bracket for

northy
16-02-2006, 11:06
i decided that weight was more important that ease mate

dynalite's are 2.5pounds
midilite are 3.7pounds

if im doing it - im doing it right.

I was just wondering if you have a set of engineering drawings and material specs for the brake mounts, im a toolmaker by trade but they can't be that complicated lol

14-03-2006, 18:42
By all means i have the necisary equiptment to make a copy of the shape for each side, all im a little dubious about is the material, i just don't want someone on a track day (or road racing heaven forbid lol) slamming on the anchors and the caliper mount failing, i don't even want to imagine what sorta damage that could cause :s

matty
14-03-2006, 21:34
My MOT is in 2 weeks time and if new brake pads are needed I don't really want to have to get some when I am gonna be fitting these. Hope they are soon........

Lunner
28-03-2006, 17:30
Nothing seems to ba happening here.

Dependant on cost might get a set of midiloite calipers and get my local enginerring/motorsports compnay to develop the brackets for them, all depends on cost tho, as its a long process to fabricate brackets from scrach

stew
28-03-2006, 19:40
If nothing is happening here id be tempted by the group buy on f7power.

Shame coz id rather give northy the money, but if i can get this kit on the cheap then i dont care!

Let us know northy!

the mounting rackets can be bought for £23

all we need really is a good machinist who can cut em down from the massive lumps they are into the shape we require.

any engineers??

if they are sold as the universal fittin kits, i wouldnt have thort theyd be weak.

03-05-2006, 08:56
speak to Yoz then, he can get brackets made up!!!

Lunner
03-05-2006, 09:30
Buy the midilites, not the antique dynalites that everyone seems to wank over

northy
03-05-2006, 09:56
got the calipers lads - and the aluminum is still at the engineers. Not sure whats happening with that tbh as the guy i use has left our company now.

Yoz is doing the kits as we speak so ive heard.

Hoping to be bringing a priced set at fcs to show.

Lunner
03-05-2006, 10:21

northy

I'd already ordered them.

Lunner
03-05-2006, 11:06

Yep drop me some measurement (I was going to measure my 4 pot bracket up but sold the car before I could) I can have them made up I was going to before hand.
Having more than 1 or two order will help the price.

By the way I can get free material which is better quality from work I think will have to see the offcuts we have are of an unusual size so not 1005 sure they can be sued.

04-05-2006, 08:40
they an inch thick.....il see me mate see if he has the heads to do alloy on the cnc s, i presume they diff to plastic ones lol.......will be free that way too ;)
