My valver is just starting to show its mileage now, with the rattly engine, knackered steering column and dodgy ABS system, so im thinking of selling up already, or changing the engine for an F7R..

What option would you guys choose:

- Ive found a fully rebuilt F7R for sale for £1500, buy that, put it in the valver and change all other dodgy parts to have a mint hybrid

OR

- Sell up, and use savings and money from valver to buy a car for around £3000 (probably something like a Pulsar/Sunny GTiR)

Im really stuck on what to do, as i love the valver, and would love to put a brand new F7R in it, but everyone i talk to calls me mad for spending that much on a Clio!!

hmm, my place will charge you £700-800 drive in drive out for a FULL 2.0 conversion including labour and cam service... provide your own box though, they suply engine... although i'd imagine they can get gearbox's.

Really ? That sounds very interesting, what does it involve ? a 2.0 bore and rebuild ?

that does sound interesting, especially considering the rebuilt F7R doesnt have a gearbox either...

Whereabouts is this place?

The Valver is in at Renault for a service right now, so depending on how that goes could also change my options above...

Why pay that much for a garage to do it... Some1 on here with more knowlege on Renaults can do it for half that. I would help ya.

Where you from Mate

I was planning on fitting the rebuilt one myself anyway mate. Cheers for the offer, im just outside of Basingstoke, Hampshire.

£700-800 doesnt seem too bad to me though..

Am i to take it that people on here would rather rebuild the Valver than sell up and buy something else then??

just got off the phone to Renault. My car is finished being serviced and checked over - they found one problem....no reverse lights lol

They didnt find the siezed rear caliper, disconnected rad. fan (i did that because its loose in the engine bay), didnt mention the excessive play in the steering rack, nor the blowing de-cat pipe. Also didnt mention any ABS problems!!!!!

Pulsar's arn't that cheap to look after... They EAT gearboxes! #-o

lol i managed to find a decent quote for a Sunny GtiR - only an extra £80 a month on top of what im currently paying for the Clio, and it was fully comp!!

What is the valver likely to be worth after having an effectively brand new F7R dropped in? My guess was in the region of £3000??

I know people running 400+ BHP on the std box, after that theres always the nismo gearset.

pulsars being unreliable and expensive is another myth, just like the renault 5 headgasket one, if you treat them right and use the correct boost for your mods you can't go wrong. 0-60 in 5.5 std is hard to touch
