Hi all! I have written up the following short market research questionare, and I would GREATLY appreciate it if you could take a minute to answer it. Simply copy and paste including your answer. Include any other info you think is relevant.

1. do you own a performance car e.g. hot-hatch?

2. if so, do you spend a considerable amount of time planning engine modifications?

3. what modifications do you consider? Eg. Headwork, mapping etc etc


4. do you generally follow up your plans?


5. if so, how much would you/do you approximately spend on engine modifications
in one go?

6. how often would you consider further work on your engine?


7. where would you preferably take your car for such modifications? A known/reputable company, which is usually more expensive? The “cheap option” that isn’t proven? another company that after in depth conversations about your needs, has gained your trust, and also offers competitive rates?


8. if you already have a regular engine tuner, would you be willing to try a different one if they seamed capable?


9. would you be willing to travel for quality engine tuning services? If so, what is the maximum distance you would travel (miles)?

have looked at headwork/cams mapping etc

in one go? average £300-400 ish

6. how often would you consider further work on your engine?
hard to say, depends on wether i get pasted all the time lol!

The “cheap option” that isn’t proven? another company that after in depth conversations about your needs, has gained your trust, and also offers competitive rates? usually from other, word of mouth and previous work carried out by the company

9. would you be willing to travel for quality engine tuning services? If so, what is the maximum distance you would travel (miles)? usually willing to travel, depends on whats is being done and quality/service etc

12. what would you consider a fair price for a “power run” on a rolling road? around £30

Yes, 2.0 Clio 16v

Exhaust, de-cat, manifold, chip/mapping, cams, lightening& balancing, manual rack conv..

Usually

Not more than £1500

Bit of a weird question...I consider it a bit but I never plan on undertaking the more expensive mods eg t/b's, steel bits etc

Known company or somewhere with consistant good feedback/results

Yes as above

I'd travel 2-300 miles for a really good job

Yes

Yes

Not particuarly...

Would depend on research/practicality etc...

Wouldn't break the £1.5k margin for sake of buying a faster car!

Only to a reputable one for specialist work...

100 miles or so at most...

Always, SOoooooooooooo many shoddy outfits out there!

£15-20 on a decent one!

Yes, 5.8L 48v of Clio.

Yep.

Head, cams and poss bottom end strengthening.

Money willing.

£3000 when i did the red 16v.

Fair would be £20 - £30 but depending on the level of service recieved would pay more.

Not planning - just doing them - recently spent close to a grand on the lil clio

anything to make it faster

most of the time - i usually spend all my wages on beer n my car

in one go?.....How ever much i ahd, if i had the cash to ahve £2k's worth of work done in one go i woudl, but a few hundred quid at a time atm
