View Full Version : supersprint manifold (again!!)
whos got one? who rates them? spoke to ktec they highly recommended one but then they would wouldnt they. feel like spending some cash on some go faster bits 8)
Ive got one! And a K-Tec unsilenced de-cat! And a devil competition exhaust!
If we have a meet soon i'll take you for a spin! No massive improvement over valver manifold (as opposed to willy manifold) but its a little more free flowing and helps her yet up to 130 much easier! And then there's the RASPPPPPP-POP-BANG!
yeah ive got unsilenced de cat, full magnex, and hillpower i/k and hill power chip, thought the supersprint would add a few ponies and help with the pops/farts lol. 8)

ohh it will! K-Tec say it will give a 7bhp increase....but im dubious!
ive got one....expect a 3bhp rise.
ive got one....expect a 3bhp rise.
Northy, is that all? 3bhp, so what happened t the 10bhp that k-tec go on about?
its called sales talk mate........bollox to me n u lol
****in wankers
im sending mine back then - nobbers - not happy now at all :(
they said 10 so 'sales talk' i was expecting 7maybe, but 3? THATS JUST A PISS TAKE
i only noticed a gain when i fitted it accelerating in 3rd.
standard with a cat (only mod s/s manifold) it pulled better but it was noticable.
me and monkey have had loads of comparrisons and my only mod over his was the manifold and there isnt much in it. id say 3bhp - 5bhp max mate.
winston says it gave him more.
people who have them are as follows.
northy - PROWLER needed modding to fit (fitted in may 2003)
Tucks - Prowler needed modding to fit
banana - supersprint (unbadged)
eddie - ktec unbadged needed modding to fit
winston - supersprint
gunnergibson - supersprint
nah it is still in the box it came in and i aint spending £350+ in 5max bhp ****in stupid
send it back and buy something else
Forgot me northy
Martin. - Supersprint
have u got one on the new motor martin ???
lol, your a manifold slag them !
U must be now on your 4th lol
Already had one on mate well two tbh as one snapped off at the engine end across the 4 branch so he got a re-placement off S/S!
K-Tec say on their website 7bhp gain. Suppose it depends on what/where you take it to be RR'd.
Did anyone go to the same place before and after to get power figures?
I would say you are defo looking at around 10bhp if you have a SS fanimold, unsilenced decat of the correct bore, and good stainless system (that is gas tight!!!!! - thats where you loose the power!!)
For your money best buy is a valver manifold....free's a little low down torque over the williams manifold, which is all important in 1/4miling.....as it happens ive got one spare if anyone needs. PM me!
wud i b right in sayin the more mods ur car has the more bhp the ss fanymold will give?
ie if uv just got the ss fanymold then ur lukin at a few bhp but if ur cars mapped cams etc ur lukin at more 5-7bhp???
well effectivly yeah probably. its a breathing mod, so it allows the engine to breath better. it just helps the cams etc extract their full potential (i think thats about right).
Monkey and Gunner have both used the valver manifold and neither rated it..killed performance 80mph+
Yeah. Agree with that...but much better than willy manifold at lower speeds. Does seem to kill top end.
I'm a supersprint boy too :D
jr mate, the 16v manifolds are superior to the willy ones neway!! 8)
give it a coatin of heat proof paint, good expensive stuff n u'll gain 2-3 maybe, so its either 350 notes for debatable 5-7 or a tenner for debatable 2-3 horses, i know what i'd try first!!! :D
Others have tried the valver manifold and didn't rate it fella.
If it worked well Renault wouldn't of wasted there time and money on developing a different manifold for the williams.

Wahoo! Standard all the way!

to 60 with my valver manifold on it was sick...
against:
extremely heavy
ugly
rusts through paint
and is slow at high speeds.
for:
torque low down...
backfiring
never tried a valver manifold, but from racin others with em fitted, iv taken the right route lol...they ok low down....but its not often im at those speeds haha
as for backfirin n poppin etc......well the willy fanimold does that jus nicely on mine lol
