the heater on my new valver was'nt blowing out warm/hot air when i got it, gave the system a bleed which sorted the problem. worth a try?

My Williams 2 did it - changed the matrix and it's perfect now - gets hot really quickly.

We took the matrix apart (with a hacksaw) and it was sludged up badly..

Not an easy job to change either - bit of a swine. (Probably need two people - one to hold the dash, one to change the matrix.. unless you balance it on ya head!)

The coolant system can get air in it, most of it will escape via the header tank, but stubborn air can stay in the rad etc, theres a bleed valve on the top of the rad, turn the car on, let it get upto temp and open the bleed valve until a steady flow of coolant comes out.

Also try flushing the system, take off the 2 hoses to the heater matrix and attach a hose pipe to each one in turn and flush it out, then do the rest of the system.

you have to undo the bleed nut which is located opp the airbox on the top corner of the rad. have a hose ready to fill the water bottle as it empty's quickly. wait till lots of water comes from the hole with no air gaps then replace the bolt.

Nothing comes out at all, hot or cold. There is no forced air blowing.

id presume it has a fuse, have you checked that ?

do the dials 'feel' normal when you turn em ?

Matrix's don't burn out, they are only like a little radiator in the car, it'll be something electrical thats stopped it working, Try another set of control knobs as the resistors in them can go, and try and locate the fuse as BRUN says

Sounds like the resistor has packed up to me.

either that or like mine! just wiggle the connection on the resistor under the scuttle panel! i went 1 1/2 years with no fan blower and all it was was a loose connection!

ooops forgot to add! u have to take wipers of then remove scuttle panel, then take out the whole windscreen wiper arms motor and mechanism(only 3 bolts) and slide it out and then u have easy access to the blower unit!

Mine was busted when i bought mine.

Rehostat had packed in, the pins had corroded on the plug and blower.

£35 for new rheostat, plug and terminal pins and shes a goodun.
