If using a whole megane engine with the head machined for the dizzy, can you use the clio inlet manifold ?

IIRC It's roughly the same manifold on the megane F7R as the clio

no, its totally different.

the megane inlet manifold can only be used on megane head. theres more to it thean simply machining head to accept dizzy....inlet manifold needs modding along with wiring

stan are you craig stan off retro renault ? if so nice clio :D

yup i am, and thanks. getting the be-atch mapped on the 28th

did you get it running on the meggy inlet manifold ? do you still have it ?

hes running tbs at the mo. He did have it runnign on the stock 1.8 managment with the meggy head and manifold etc for a bit though.

That's supprising as it looks the same. If you dont mind me asking what is so different about it. I mean the megane F7R not the F4R BTW

ports are around 20mm narrower on the megane head.

Main reason why the power is better in fact!

Aha. More velocity less flow =More torque, less power

Chris H

more torque less power?

aye very good.

go learn about things then come back eh.

PMSL Chris, dont you know power is inversley proportional to torque?!

the manifolds dont really look anything alike mate. megane one is shorter and sits higher, since the radius of the trracts goes totally the opposite direction. they are however both made of ally....amybe this is the confusion?

lol, maybe its because it has 4wheels?

Well what a clever person you are chris telling someone to go and learn about something they've spent 3 years studying. lol

you still studying?

Ive spent 2.5years so far studying Automotive Engineering and i still know jack! He's a top bloke!

Chris_H and BenR really do know their stuff....so if they say something they arent often wrong!

Ohh and Chris_H can be a little blunt and to the point sometimes....but its better that way....no nonsense!

yea, you'd learn fast if chris was your uni lecturer lol.

I'd love to see some of his comments and corrections on papers lol.

So would i ben! I think the word "blunt" would be an understatement!

Im currently building a 2.0 to go in my clio and am going to use the megane head and manifold. quite a few things to modify if u want to run it on the 1.8 or willy management. Talk to Stan is ur best bet, thats what i did seems to know these engines inside out. So far i have modified the throttle potentiometer, and have modified the meganes ISCV mounting so that the 1.8 ISCV cam be used. still have to mount the air temp sender somewhere and mess around with the vacumns etc
