Front looks spot on, but i can see why you dont like the back. i hate it when the tyre go's under the arch

looks good. but like mine, is a little too low at the back for the front...

did you just have it in for the torsion beam or did you have suspension changed on the front too ??

i had up-rated lowering springs put on the front and the rear torsion set but as i said above its too low . :x

The front looks about the same as standard to be honest :? What's the measurement from the centre of the wheel to the arch?

As I said in your other post, I reckon they put on the wrong springs originally, and that's why it looked too high.

williams-3
07-01-2006, 14:55
yeh possibly Zollo , i'm happy with the front now but goin back on wednesday to get the rear raised a bit .

williams-3
07-01-2006, 15:02
ok the front measured from centre of wheel to arch in approx 11'' and the rear is approx 10'' , rather the rear was 12'' tbh

Zollo
07-01-2006, 15:14
Looks like yours is lower 25mm at the front and 50mm at the rear then.

Mine (standard) is 12" front and rear. So I guess you just want to raise the rear another inch.

williams-3
07-01-2006, 15:21
yeh another inch will do ...... fools ! 25mm at front 50mm a the back , how the hell do they do it ?!

Zollo
07-01-2006, 15:30
The reason the measurements are the same front/rear is only because the wheel arches are different shapes. If they were the same shape, it would show that the actual ride-height is still higher at the rear. :)

They probably worked off the distance from the sill to the ground, so made that even both ends, which it shouldn't be

Told you they wouldnt get it right paul!

Looks spot on at the front, but the rear is too low. only by 15mm or so.

Remember that when you reverse the rear will go lower, and when driving the rear will rise a little!

How much did it cost you if you dont mind me asking?

williams-3
07-01-2006, 15:38
yeh thats what they said when i was leaving the place , he said '' the car is sitting flat along the sills '' yeh i know the arches are slightly different shapes but i thought they'd hav the sense to measure it with the outside of the tyre to the arch that way it'll look even front / rear . If i only still had coilovers all round like my old civic :(

Looks allright, but it is to low at the rear,
When they raise the rear you will probably find the front will drop more.

yeah does look a tad low at the rear, lower than mine i reckon, must of been a different bloke that did yours than did mine. looks good though, just raise it a little at the rear plus the springs at the front will settle a little as they bed in.

this is mine and its a little to low.it doesnt really catch on arches, just abit rough ride, but handles like it on rails.ive never driven one with standard springs but been told they still handle well.everyone for there own but i think it looks good same as yours does mate :D

That looks shit - they did exactly the same with mine and then told me its all my fault for being akward when I went back - plus i couldn't drive it like that it felt really wrong.

Apparently mines back to normal height now - like hell! but ironically its exactly as I wanted it - I'd show you a pic but I don't currently have a car to photograph!

Ermmm... you put your foot down, the front lifts up and the rear plants its arse, you brake and the front plants its self and the rear lifts up.

When i reverse the rear lifts up on all my cars :?

Yeah. True. BUT when you stop the car....braking the front dips. You then park like this...and the rear is higher than it normally is. If you then reverse the rear will squat down slightly. I can get some pics if you want! Its clear as day on my hybrid anyway! (prob coz there is fook all weight in the back of it!!!)
