No mate, if you can afford it, then spend it. As Martin says, these cars can be huge money pits. Spending the most amount of money you can is the best thing you can do, 'cos it'll save you money in the long term. Just be very, very fussy whe looking.

just be carful with that snapped wheel bolt. Don't try driving it more than a mile or so like that, get the AA to tow it back for you. honestly a bloke i work with tried driving about 3 miles slowly home with 2 bolts in and the wheel soon came off. That was only 2 bolts but still i wouldn't like to risk it.

i drove about with 3 wheel bolts in mine after trackday(1 snapped) allway from wales back home at speed limits etc, took me 2month to swap it!

 your a braver man than me but i surpose the factor of safety they may use must mean that 3 wheel bolts will hold it if not put under excesive strain.

Just realised aswell you haven't bought it so it doesn't matter.

basically

the wheel bearing/wheel bearings sounded awful alot worse than a bearing should so this made me think its something worse

sounded ****in AWFUL i mean horrible tinny and just strange!

gearbox would not drop in to 1st at junctions and clutch was onits last legs

exhaust was blowing all over the palce

drivers door wouldnt shut

boot wouldnt open

shall i go on

i basically just told him no and walked off

waste of ****in time......

anyway i'm having that wily 1 on the FOR SALE section on her
picking it up tomorrow

let hope this one aint a shed! lol
