okay heres the fruits of tonites labours!!
i finally got that speedo fix done after a lot of swearin n lost limbs but shud b worth it for nice smooth needle! while i was there n all i tidied up all the wires around the starter motor, disconnected it and cleaned the contacts. after reconnectin them i covered the large spade connector in vaseline to protect against rust and water intrusion!
next i fitted my new oil level/temp sender into the sump at the front of the engine and reconnected the connectors for the fan and rad temp switch, which wasnt wired up when i got the car so am hopin it will work right now!
i then bolted the new idler pulley onto the side of the block and put all the screws/bolts that hold the cam belt back middle cover on back into place! after that i stuck the fuel line shield/guide on that side back on, the one bolts to the suspension turret at about head gasket height! sorted all the pipes that run through it n all so its all nice and neat n tidy, not like before when it was all over the shop!!
next job was to strip the rocker cover and top metal cam belt cover of paint n get sanding! cheated tho n bought a sand paper star attachment for the drill n been usin that, much quicker n not bad result, will finish by hand but good to get going! not sure how long to keep goin at the polishin, basically right up till the parts have to be fit!!
sprayed up some of the other bits n bobs n all in heat resistant black paint, just to tidy em up a bit!!
few pics
