View Full Version : URGENT HELP!! speedo cable fix!

am tryin to do that wobbly speedo fix with the star shaped plastic insert replacement for the standard square one, thing is i cant for the life of me get the old bit of plastic out of the final drive on the gearbox!

i've pulled n pulled with the pliers but am scared of snappin it or brreakin summit! thing is i gotta do it now as if it wasnt rounded off before it sure as hell is now!

help me!any ideas?!!!!

Squirt loads of WD40 down there and let it soak for a bit.

its full of gearbox oil anyway, cant figure that helpin too much! problem is its too slippy get decent grip on anyway!

put needle nose pliers in the hole and open them outwards then pull..i had a gearbox that the plastic bit wouldnt come out of at all..lol

laffin, one big tug........... :o and a knackered elbow thats now skinless later and its out!!sweet!
