right my cars done 52000mls, it had a new belt/water pump and tensioners etc done at 22000mls so according to the service book its due again as renault say change every 30k. so should i bother with new tensioners again and should i bother with a new water pump as they have only done 30k?? also i want to get new cams/pulleys probably from awt so should i wait and get them fitted at the same time to save on labour costs? i know ktec site says they do a cambelt change for £120 but renault charge a fortune and the garage i use say roughly 5hrs labour as an engine mount has to be taken out to tilt the engine to make access easier. what do u guys reckon what should i do? :?:

firstly id replace the tensioners aswell with belt, the water pump id only touch if noisy/leaking or bearings going, should be ok if already done before!

if your going to get cams the u may aswell wait and have it all done at once, saves money

Depends when you're going to get the cams done, but I'd say do it then. I'm sure Renault say more than 30k?

If you haven't already read it, this will help...

I thought the cam belt was 48k or 5yrs...Officially anyway, most people do it sooner to be on the safe side.

Offically it's 72,000 miles or 5 years but never leave it that long!

Depends on how deep your pocket is mate.

Personally I would get it all done at the same time, excluding water pump. It is good practice to always change tensioners with belt change, you can buy this as a kit anyway.
