Just purchased some corbeau sprints with universal side mounts.

Do I have to drill and tap new holes in the floor to accomodate the mounts as they clearly dont mount onto original mounts as they are too thin lol

pics any advice would be much appreciated ASAP

thanks all

Most people who have universal side mounted seats have drilled through the floor and use bolts - Easy

I used to have omp seats which had specific clio subframes which bolt into the standard mounting points

only thing is with universal mounts you might not be able to get the seat back into the original position.

When i did my cobra imolas (same as martin, and wot winston used to have) they came with universal side mounts. I used the original mounting places on the floor plan. Just had to elongate or drill a few new holes. This meant that they were still bolted onto the stiffer bits rather than straight thru the floor! (if you know wot i mean) Difficult to decribe!

i did the same as stew, but i fitted a bit of metal re-inforcement just to be on the safe side, as the original mounting holes are a bit thicker and the rest of the 2 'strips' are a bit thinner! (as you can see in the first pic)

i fitted some sliders too just on the drivers, cos i know they'd be wrong after driving 2 miles lol!

just need to figure out where to put the inside harness bolts to now! im thinking through floor with reinforced plate behind it! need to find some daylight to take a good look!

and it was foooking freezing last weekend, hence the gloves and full thermals on hehe
