Welding & painting was £175
Pas Pump is £203 parts only incl discount (got it myself new)
MOT test was £44
Brake hose was c£8 but I think I might hav been charged for it separately as well. Will clear that up tomorrow
Guide pin bolt needed to be drilled out so was charged £30 (again I think I've been billed twice)

Their bill was £756 inc. vat and inc MOT cost. Maybe take off another 48 though for double billing. then add £203 for PAS pump and brake hose.

Since the electronic MoT system has come into place, MoTs have gone about about a tenner. Mine was £47.

Never paid less than £35. And last time I paid feck all they supposedly adjusted the headlights. They were well out.

Thing with this is I asked him to MOT it and fit the pump. Trouble is, he isn't a renault specialist and so it probably took longer than he expected to do the pump. As a result it was sat around ages trying to be fitted in around other work.

He also patched up the centre silencer and fixed a couple of dodgy bits of the loom. He also had trouble with the wrong aux belt being supplied by renault and other shit. In all it's about what I was expecting TBH, and I reckon it's at least what it would have cost at the local renault bloke.

I know I could've taken it elsewhere but as it failed its MOT it would've been illegal to drive (had not tax either!) so I just though feck it.

Other thing is the garage that used to do MOTs for me has had to move out the centre of Manc. They also should've picked up the rot and a couple of other bits last year when they MOTd it, so I'm kind of glad I took it to this bloke. He's worked on other stuff for us and is the salt of the earth type.

Think it pissed him off more than me in the end, having it laying round for 6 weeks! :P

Paid it today. The bill dropped to £708 inc VAT as they'd charged me twice for one thing and also charged me for a brake hose which I supplied.
