There's some faffing that you can do with the button on the end of the wiper stalk combined with the accelerator pedal. I'll have a look on the infotech.renault.com system for you now

Well, I cant find the manual relaing to re-syncing the plip but What I found was the description of the little button.

Basically if your key fails, you can unlock the ECU manually by holding the throttle peddle fully in and entering the secret number on the button that renault supplied with the car by pressing it the number of times relating to the number.

I.E 3324 would be:

press press press wait press press press wait press press wait press press press press

how do you find this code, and is it ecu specific or a general code?

The cars were originally sold with a little scratch card type thing with the number written on it. Possibly if you were to go to renault with your v5 they might be able to get it of the system for you.

And in the clio it's the ECU over-ride
