i want to spray up the power steering pump mount and the rest of the other parts that are made of is it aluminium?! either way i want to clean em and spray em black in heat proof paint but whats the best way to go about it to make sure the paint wont flake? the wire brush aint takin all the crap off and neither is the wool!!!like a white powder comes of in huge amounts

the one on the left, little effort i've had a blast at but its still bit.....powdery! i dont want my paint to flake after 20 seconds!!!

Try some gunk and a copper wire brush wheel in a drill. Alu Usually sparkles after that

Dunno how good a paint surface petrol will leave. Usually leaves crusty white deposits. I normally use acetone to prep for paint but it's a bugger to get hold of after the london bombings.
