Have no idea thats why its being advertised! I can hardly advertise it as a normal decat can i as that would be illegal. Trade Description Act 1968.

If your interested in the decat then all well and good and i'll be pleased to help, but if all you want to do is get your posts up and mock the advertisement then it really helps no one :x

Have a nice day.

Didnt think a normall de-cat was illeagal :? By law you dont have to have a cat anyway, as long as your car meets the emission requirments without it 8)

No the advertising it as a normal decat would probably be illegal as this decat is a "silenced one". It serves a different purpose.

With regards to it passing the MOT without a cat as long as the emmisions are correct, im not sure. By law all cars after 1992/1993 had to have a catalytic converter. Why would this now not be relevant just because you managed to get your emmisions within the tolerance.

Anyway were getting side tracked here.

This is a thread notifying people of a Janspeed Silenced Decat for sale. If your interested then please PM me.

there is no law in the UK that dictates ANY vehicle has to be fitted with a catalytic convertor, it only has to meet the emmisions criteria.

Andy is right.

Obvioulsy im not the only onw who thought that after 92/93 cars had to have a CAT. There is one person who thinks you dont as long as you pass the CO.

On the basis that more people thought you need a CAT i'll go with them cos that makes me right!
