Aye it's weird with the 6.5k rev limit the nana used to fly up tot he limiter in 5th..about 30 secs i think.

weird, mine pulls solid from 80mph in 5th... with your chip it went like a freakin train... I reckon it's your lack of cams, I was getting 125ish in 4th taking it right to the limiter, without cams but chip only wasn't your 4th gear only as long as mine on std limiter?

lol........that was with cams mate.^^^^^ think i only ever hit the limiter once with cams, an i had gunner in, was about 147 iirc......but i have had it off the clock on the way to the strip........still with revs to go :twisted: :evil:



yeah but u gotta remember that the head has been dowgraded to a std valver head as well mate....that alone will kill performance. spesh at the top end

aah rite... never noticed to be honest, when you were full of mods by 120 you'd be a small spec miles up ahead of me anyway... lol

see what you mean about the head then, what do Williams normally get on the limiter in 4th? I'm getting 112mph on the clocks at the moment, 125+ with your chip at 7200ish... so cams give you more top end and same revs then you think??? :?

that's with cams and remap though Jamie (7200rpm ish). on standard limiter it does 112mph... sometimes more when it revs over the redline. I dropped it from 5th to 4th at 100mph having a go against a Scooby last night... seemed like a fast one so needed all the available power. think it was the lad round the corners who's a copper too lol

im not sure mine does 110 at red line tbh, i thought it was closer to 100, 105max! what cams have u got? i watched the vid of u going round donnington and i noticed u went past jan v quickly, seems to have made a big diff

I'm running BenR's first set of AWT billet custom profile cams with extra lift. They are not timed in as yet nor was the chip for my car, so on the Donny vid it's not running 100% either... scary thought eh? :twisted:

Cannot recommend the cams enough mate, since I've had mine LOADS of people have asked me about them and a high number have bought a set and none are disappointed. I'll be getting the car timed and mapped in Feb, so i'll get a speedo vid up and you can see the difference. It certainly surprised a few people including myself and 2 live at Donny... went like ****! lol

Cams shouldn't lengthen the gear ratio though! :wink: I've hit 120 in 4th on the limiter as did Paul, and so I'd have thought the willy would be the same unless you've got a longer 4th or even higher limit than 7200?

I know they shouldn't, but 2 live noticed it too... it's probably worth mentioning at this point that I have a valver box, but as tested with Northy pre cams it was exactly the same as the Willy box, right down to the top end... after cams I still changed at 6'500 (std ECU still) in 4th, but it seemed to be a good few seconds after him. You were in the car at the time iirc Mike when we had the doo, so can only assume cams allow you to carry more speed in gear by way of better acceleration and momentum?

Nah. Shouldn't affect speed in a gear. At x000rpm the gear will output the same revolutions to the wheel regardless of the power of the engine. Seems very, very odd.

Mine does 105 ish at 6500rpm in 4th.... valver box

Perhaps your speedo over-reads Jesus?

Mine with standard limiter - 108mph (6500?)
Mine with Hill Power limiter - 112mph (6900?)

my speedo was accurate on the last RR it did, but strangely enough my rev counter was 300-400rpm out. it reads 6890 but only shows 6500 on the clock, basically just touching the red... :?

sometimes like last night however it will rev to 6'8k or 7'0k depending on it's mood, never payed any attention to the speedo tho, always looking at the rpm gauge as the hard cut limiter is dreadful!!!

my top end is crap.. when i was on the autobahn it was slow from 100mph seemed to creep up to 130.. still was pulling tho. at 130 i felt the need to release the pedal.

I have one dood, it was posted on a thread a bit ago with all the Donny vids. Thread started by 2 live, cant remeber the name of it tho... prolly Donny vids... lol

It looks pretty rapeed, but that's with back seats, spare and jack out... but me, 2 live, luggage and full tank of petrol iirc, so running over standard weight either way... none of this stripped to the max, on the warning light nonsense lol

i also have a vid of me passing wez, with me 2 up and with all the babyseats etc in on martins run we did earlier in the year, same kinda story.

and yes..cams do seem to make u get higher speeds per same rpm....for some reason, mine std 100, with cams 110, with cams n remap, 125 ish.....all in 4th and the cams only n std are on std map and limiter

the cams on average made the car about 7-10 mph quicker in evry gear....the map added another 10-15 on top of that

Never hit the limiter in top on a bike, though got quite close. But funnily enough, didn't have a digi cam to hand :lol:

But watch this space, as I have a mate with a pencil camera handy. Obviously I'd have to go to Bruntingthorpe or similar again :P
