Do the phase 2 ecu's have the immobilser built in like valvers? When me and my mate swapped our phase 2 ecu's round they didnt work, but then i bought a phase 1 ecu off ebay and all was good :D

Im worried that if i buy a willy engine the ecu might be encoded if its froma willy 2 or 3. Do i have to be worried?

How much would it cost to get the immobilser removed from the ecu?

All Williams ECU's are the same.

But did some have immobilsers and some not like early valvers?
Will it work fine in my car then even though its phase 2?

None have an immobliser.

I just swapped ecu's with matt this week - mine's a 1, his is a 2...

No problems

i could never run ph 1 valver ecus on mine.wouldnt work.

Ah, at least someone as had my problem 8) Thats what im worried about if i get a willy lump from, say a 2 or 3. The ecu will be phase 2 and might not work in mine :shock: Can they be remapped to cut out the immobiliser?

No Williams ECU's have built in immobilisers.

the willy ecus are not the same as the valvers.. they are their own unit....

ive only had problems with the 1.8 ecus..

willy 1 and 2 ecus are different to the willy 3 one i think since the willy 3 has abs enabled on it and the williams 1+2 doesnt! i have a willy 2 ecu on my hybrid and the abs doesnt work!

That's because your ABS is bust then.. cus' the ECU's are all the same.
ABS is a seperate unit.

so the abs has nothing to do with the ECU? why when i asked people if the williams ecu supported abs they said no youd have to get a williams 3 ecu or have the standard valver ecu mapped as a 2litre to keep the abs.
that came from GDI!
