My valver has that rarest of rare things - an unchipped bonnet and I want to keep it that way.
I know this has been asked before and I remember a link to some site selling ugly looking leather covers. I was thinking some sort of clear film to protect the front of the bonnet.
Is there some sort of adhesive backed clear film that can protect the bonnet but wouldn't damage the paintwork when taken off?

I drive to shows etc with the front of bonnet wrapped in cling film. Just ask FATBOY, he'll vouch for this.

Cheers. How long does it last for? I want something semi-permanent. So I can put it on for a few weeks or whatever and then replace it.

you can buy 3m chip tape, which is thick and used in OE applications on chip prone areas.

cling film!! I used this last time on FRST and ended up ripping it off 10miles down the road, was masking tape and cling film all the way down the A19!!!

as ben R has said you can get 3m stone chip film, not sure about other cars but i know on the scooby WR1's it was an optional extra to have it doen from the factory, my only gripe with it is that from a distance where the edges of it are it looks like the car has been keyed until you get up close and see it

Just get some chips.
The Williams is particularly bad for them, but they just add to the character ;)

All these covers etc.. make it look terrible!

My mate Kev has just started selling it from his valeting company. It's perfectly clear and is ideal for on bonnets etc. I'll get his details at the weekend as they're on my home computer.

See ya

Is that cuz Williams are faster? :) Yeah right, yellow chips add character! :P

Cheers all. I'll try some of that film.
