np mate this way is easier if your doing it without ramps, if you have ramp access best to drop the subframe and lift the car in the air, does take a little longer but involves a lot less swearing! (had mine out 2 times through the top though) load levellers are a must imo to make it much easier to get the box and engine out all in one go

Through the top if you have an engine hoist, bottem if you don't, its about £30-£40 to hire a hoist for the day

it cost me £30 for a week to hire a engine hoist, if u dont have a ramp then lifting it is easyiest

Definately would make it easier, I've taken 2 out in the past month and I've had to push against the engine to stop it catching on the side of the bay whilst my Dad was operating the hoist. But then again I did borrow the hoist off of a mate and didn't have to pay for it.

Can't wait to put the engine back in! LOL

im lucky (ish) to work in a car dealership so I have access to ramps etc. thanks for the advise!! its coming out today!!! yippee!!! bottom ends are rattling!!

i took my engine apart in the bay, the head came out the top, the bottom end was dragged out underneath.

My attempt, subframe off, car went down to engine was on floor, undo engine mounts, car went up, jack each side, easy
