Jesus, this weekend i've removed half the parts of the Valver, its in bits getting a good overhall, but can I get the gearknob off?! Can I buggery.

I remember in my last 2 cars i ended up sawing it off! But don't really fancy doing it this way unless I really have to- I've had the mole grips on it and everything but is there a special technique or is it all brute force?!

Cheers
Michelle :D

Dave if I put my weight behind it the gearbox would probably come off through the car as well

Got the mole grips on and gave it a proper good twist! All sorted now, cheers lads!

Lol I bought mine and it fell off on the test drive!

Don't put it on too hard now so I can get it off if need be...

mine wouldnt come off on my 1.2, just the sharp plastic bit thats inside the gearknob stayed on and rubber came off, tried hacksawing it, stilll no job, the guy who prev owned it glued the fooker on!

Aftercutting my hand several times on the sharp plastic i cut my gear stick down straight thru the metal, fitted new knob, and alot easier to change gear...loved it
