The bonnet is a direct replacement to you can just swap the vent from your existing bonnet...probably have to ditch the raincatcher though.

The FibreGlass one you have to paint,yes/no?

The carbonfibre one has the look,yes/no?

neilc

But the fibreglass one requires bonnet pins which isnt very secure if your car is left out on the steet and some one wants a laugh

Martin

true but if you have an alarm it's not too much of a problem

Carbon does look the danglies though and with my wheels and seats would look good....I really can't afford it ...

U should have alarm sensors under the bonnet, as soon as it's lifted alarm will go off.

Truthfully speaking if i had one of them on the car i'd be sleeping in it.

Your right though Martin carbonfibre gear is mad money.

I will dream on for now

might have to purchase a fibreglass one me thinks! as people say if you have an alarm the bonnet pin problem shouldnt be one! also as people have said many times noww you can get locking bonnet pins!

neilc

about time k-tec did some of these bad boys!

fibreglass one seems good, and the carbon one is a ripp off IMO!

Would the normal rain catcher fit into where the mesh bit is? :?

Seems a bit pointless buyin a good bonnet like that and have wet HT leads all the time! Bit dissapointed that k-tec didnt include a fabricated fibreglass raincatcher with it. Suppose its all down to weight!

Defo something to add to the "to buy" list!

iv not got a rain catcher, and have fiesta leads which dont block the plug holes like normal 16v/willy plugs to, and iv not had a problem at all with regards to any rain getting in!

only thing that gets a tad wet is the exhaust manifold!

its been stood and driven in heavy rain wtih no probs :)

Martin
15-11-2005, 18:13

stew

i want the carbon one, but i am unsure about the mesh instead of a proper vent insert, does anyone know whether we can still use the original insert ?

JonnyK

Yeah but £411 for the k-tec or £325 for an autocrosse one

according to the guys at team think, the k-tec bonnet is in fact the autocrosse bonnet, so save yourselves some pennies lads!

Lunner

LMFAO....only k-tec could take something that retails out at £325 and then add £85 onto it and sell it
