:D

Keep me posted, always hitting the limiter on track

Presume it comes on AT the rev limit, rather then say 300rpm before?

12v LED,

connect black - wire to pin 9 on the diagnostic port, and connect red wire + to pin 6, on turning ignition the led should blink 5 times.

i may be wrong....

yes this is a poormans method, where you dont need an external unit, just red wire black wire and a 12v led lol.

Crikey -30, now thats freaking cold!!!

Shift light looks good!! I take it you can set it to where you need it to be and not from the rev limiter. As best time to change is not a limiter.

You could have at least made it look straight and central!

Cheap ass!

Craig

what do u mean?

underside is of dash is bent, the shift light bends to fit any shape!

and i wanted it above the rev counter

its set to flash to change at 7100. limit is 7300

Actually I'll let you off as that all makes sense now and it is indeed in the prime position...

is your temperature sensor knackered then? or am i being thick?

14-11-2005, 21:02
I'd defo say sensor is knackered. Thats what they flash up with when shot.

Anders

Isn't 7100 a bit high for changing? Surely you are well past peak torque by then, and when the next gear kicks in you are on the high point of the curve also??

Craig
14-11-2005, 22:37
no its bob on mate, peak torque is 6500 and peak power 7300 on standard bottom end!

actually thinking about it, red is at 7100, but the change flash is about 7250 i think!

yeh wire is broken on the mirror for temp sensor, need to sort it!

:)

Craig

yeh thats the idea mate, its bright enough to see without looking at the dials.

you dont have to take ur eyes off the road ahead! and when it flashes to change you know it time to change!

got a vid somewhere! hang on

Craig
15-11-2005, 09:40
quite easy, just ground, switched live, and tapped into the rev counter wiring at the back of the clocks!

Wicked cheers. I have got power the unit and have earthed it so it works now but when set to the clocks the lights are going mad when my engine is on. ( like yours did ) by just taking the wire from behind the clocks and fixing it onto the point where yours is fittied will eliminate this problem.

Im a little confuse about wiring it to the negative where as mines on the positive side but powers up fine on my switch? :)

cheers

OK right seems to be working a little better. Now its down to programming the little bleeder. It is on My clio RT so onli revs to 7000. I have set it to the green zone which seems to b ok but then flashes mental. What ration have u used when setting it up. I.e how many green light flashes, amber , red.

Sorry to be such a pain but i have tried a few different patterns and i think im annoying my neighbours having to keep re setting it and reving it to 4 rpm all the time .

cheers :)
