I'm getting through about one litre every 1000 miles. The car doesn't smoke and there aren't any oil leaks, so where the hell is it going? :?

I used to get through a litre a month but i dont drive it has hard now and only have to fill it every 2-3 months. Its under hard accelleration when it burns it. If i drive normally it dont use any :? My mates used to burn oil too, infact everybody i know who owns one

Renault tolerances say its ok to burn 1 liter ever 600 miles.
However thats a new engine I wouldn't worry mine burns about that.

Cheers people 8)

Just worked it out and it's actually 5 litres in 4000 miles I've used. That does include three tracks days and some 'spirited' road driving though, so perhaps it's not too bad :P

Think of it as extra lubricant creeping round the pistons lol
