Insurance companies are looking for any reason not to payout, if you don't declare effectively you are not insured. I pay £400 fully comp, however I am old and will be using viagra soon  TBH thats high for 25 yrs of driving, its the 17-25yr olds that drive like twats that keep the premiums high  At least you have a trick motor and soon you'll be an old fart like me!!

You are asking us to condone playing russian roulette, if you want to take the risk take it, if anyone on this site tells you to, will they pay your fine or contribute to the years of compensation you have to pay out if it all goes tits up and you have a prang. Recently a father who had his sons Pug 205 GTI on his insurance has been ****ed over for life because he failed to notify the insurance company that the engine had been changed from a 1.6 GTI to a 1.9, it was involved in a fatality and guess what his insurance company sent round an inspector and bingo, his insurance was declared null and void. Would it not be more advisable to shop around for a different quote. I don't want to sound like a fuddy duddy but asking anyone to say go for it, when I suspect you already know the sensible thing to do is declare it!!

Id definately say declare as my insurance is coming up at the end of this month, i'm gonna declare lowered and exhaust but.....

what do people think to declaring the

williams wheels?
williams interior?
williams dials?

Should i not bother as there on other model clio's???

Danny, my understanding is that you only have to declare anything that alters the performance of the car ie chipping, loweringetc.. nothing you have mentioned there does anything other than altering the appearance of the vehicle.

cheers nick, thats what i was thinking plus none of it was aftermarket, it is fitted to a clio!

anyone got any other views on it?

Fitting a towbar to a car can invalidate your insurance. Anything that is not meant to be there will.

They dont ask does it have a toe bar fitted.

Very grey area insurance.

so if you were insuring mine what would you say, it is a williams replica, or it has williams parts?

I don't want them charging me williams insurance!!!

Ask them the cheapest way to insure it
