Not getting the ****ing car back this week, as promised.

Apparently the PAS is still mkaing a noise, which I reckon just means it needs bleeding properly.

It wouldn't start. Reckons I have dodgy ignition wiring. Never a problem before. Doesn't charge 13.5V, only 12.5, but it's had new battery and alternator last year.

It's now running.

Consequently they haven't managed to see why the n/s caliper is sticking slightly.

My no-road-tax-grace-period ends on Monday so it looks like I'm going to have to SORN it for now.

tenner says that the caliper is sticking cus the guide pins just need greasing, that's what was wrong with mine, 10 min job to fix.

Tbh sounds like they are deliberately finding things wrong with it

most mark ones only charge at 12.5 on idle, needs to rev it to 3k for test

Nah. This place is an honest little place. I think TBH he's just a perfectionist and doesn't understand that I'm happy for the odd thing to be wrong with it.

I've basically only had it 4-5days since the middle of september. Spent 3 weeks in Renault having the rear repaired and about 4 weeks in this place.

Gunner, cheers for that. I did wonder myself when I tested it last year at idle.

Lunner, cheers, will keep that in mind but will let them find out before I say anything.

mervin, get someone else to run an idle voltage check on battery...mine may be on the blink.

1) check voltage engine off with voltmeter on battery
2) same test engine on
test 2 should reveal a variation as you pull the xlr8 cable. up to 14v.
