best oil?

Can anybody tell me whats the best oil and grade to use on the mk1 2.0 16v (willy) engines?

Have a 150bhp Valver and been using all sorts since day 1, Duckhams QXR, Halfords and Total Quart 7000 semi synthetics. Then on to Castrol RS and Mobil 1 Motorsport fully synthetics.

Castrol RS was the best IMO for how the car ran. You can get this for £15 a 4l bottle on Ebay plus postage.

However Oilman who posts on many many forums advises Ester based synthetic oils being the best. He posted on Cliosport prices and free delivery until November 14th.

From his advice, Silkolene Pro S 5w40 is the best and I ordered 4x5l for 112 quid yesterday and it arrived today. Was gonna fit tonight but its raining.

For money and free delivery would advise any1 to take up offer. 4x5l works out cheapest and works out at £28 a bottle compared to around £36 for a bottle of 4l mobil 1 or Castrol. And Silkolene is supposed to be good for longer running in engine as doesn't break down as easy so getting more oil for your money and better quality oil too.
