I have just had my wide track 2.0 valver lowered on 35mm springs wich I thought would not be too much of a problem but I am getting a bit too much rubbing on the arches and now I have cracked my off side wing whilst parking on a gravel driveway!
I am thinking of getting the lip trimmed off the inside of the arch to prevent this from happening to another arch when I get it fixed.
Just wandering what other people have done about this as I know it is a pretty common mod and 35mm is not really that low is it!?...
I have already changed the tyres to 195 50 15 as opposed to standard.

What wheels are fitted they might have less offset than standard?

Well i'm down 60mm on 15's with 205 tyres fitted and wiht spacers which make it almost a willy track tehre is no scrubbing ont eh arches

They aren't 17's by any chance?

No, they are only 15's!
My set up is: Willy Track with -35mm Boge springs and Goodyear eagle f1 with 195 50 15's.
I recon the bit of extra width with the track makes all the difference with the arches and the tyres do seem to stick out quite a bit from the rim of the alloy's.
the car does feel much wider and more solid then before.
Just come back for a 'spirited' drive in her and I am grinning from ear to ear!

Changing to a thinner 185 tyre will help a fair bit, if not cure it.

shouldn't rub at all though really, mine never did with 195's... I reckon your tracking is out personally.

Mines had boge springs and i think they generally lower more than other brands in reality when you're comparing ride heights.

Mine certainly rubbed and i know matbrowns rubbed -35mm on 195s...

Yes, I recon they are lower then -35mm, Its got to be the only answer as my suspension is all freshly set up with new bushes and I just had the tracking done last week. The car handles and drives like a dream.
Also you should have seen the rubbing with 185 tyres on! It was far worse and made the car practically undrivable. This is one of the reasons I went for 195's

Hmmm...you could try removing the front arch liners and going back to 185's - they're a thinner tyre it'll stop contact with the outer arch and removing the liner will stuff scrubbing inside/lock-to-lock (since the 185 is a taller tyre).

Beyond that if you're keeping the 195/50s, you could try cutting the outside of the arch as you suggested or just wing it...195/45s might also be an option.
