The skin became un-stuck??? and blew off on the motorway and got crushed buy a truck behind....:(

Bloody lucky it didn't do more damage to you/your car or even the truck behind...

who did the bonnet? Yourself or a company? if you bought it/had it done by a company i'd be wanting to no why the fek the bonnet came "unstuck" cos that shouldn't happen- you've been lucky there matey

Im going picking up the carbonnut valver at weekend and david is giving me the standard carbon skinned bonnet ....so i will rip that off and bond it to mine.

Martin ......It's my summer bonnet :D

unlucky mate. just lucky no-one was hurt. i would have shat a brick it that had happened to me!!!

excuse the ignorance, but can you buy a fully carbon bonnet, rather than a skin that sticks onto a bonnet frame? do they offer much weight saving over standard bonnet? how much and where from? and i assume that fiberglass is even lighter (as martin had on the nana!)!!

Davids just been working and chilling........he's having a break from carbonnut for the time being

Fibre glass = light
carbon = Strong and light

Mine was a carbon skin on a fibre glass frame

carbon bonnets for Mk1's are on the rare side theses days :wink:
