hi , here goes for a blatant free plug.....

www.carbonnut.com

some may know me as david16v from cliosport , and would like to take the opportunity to spread the word about carbonnut , we started as a renault based carbon manufacturer and still have a heavy renault theme

we have successfully produced the first commercially available valver/willy bonnet and will be launching the tailgate to match very soon

also due is the sunroof replacement panel and numerous other parts ,

we have a strong weight saving theme and caaan supply many products , not just carbon to help you save weight and hence improve performance , these include lightweight wheels from ATS and perspex windows shaped to fit all mk1 clios

we shall be at the french car show

I would be very pleased to discuss any ideas or wishes you may have regarding parts and would welcome group buys to help reduce costs for you all

David

Nice one, i can always get them painted myself. Just as long as its ok to paint them, and colour will match the car.

Whats the weight saves on a bonnet and tailgate?

Sounds good, are you based in Cambs??

bonio

yup , based in cambs , nr ramsey

weight saving is approx 50% over std for both bonnet and tailgate

thats about 9kg for bonnet and 7 for tailgate , if you add a perspex window in tailgate you can obviously save more.....by replacing all glass with a high quality scratch resistant perspex i can supply you save 10 kg

MOT issues?

hat is the weight of paint. Ok so its 50% lightner, how much would it be if it was painted?

bonio
09-03-2005, 00:33
there should be no issues with MOT , as its basically the same as any grp panel , and theres a fair few of those about

as for weight with paint , not weighed a painted one yet , but its gonna be near enough the same , as the unpainted version has a clear gel coat on top , so that would be the equivelant to the paint
