Anyone know how much they cost from Reno and/or would it be better to get one from one of those windscreen places?

If the car is insured, ring your insurer. Only cost you £50.

It might need to be cracked though.

i'm covered third party only and possibly not covered for windscreen breakage.will check with the broker at some point.i'd say autoglass or someone like that would be a lot cheaper than the original reno part, however I wonder of there is a difference in quality.

Mine is a RAC fitted Pilkington number. Not quite as good IMO. THere was a very minor ripple in it that made your eyes go a bit funny, but I'm used to that now.

can you not ring the insurance company up and say you want a replacement?

Don't know. Wouldn't take much to crack one.
