my mint willy 3 is currently in my mums garage after i gave it a full valet and tbh im reluctant to bring it back out until the winter is over. seriously thinking about buying a cheap runabout to save the willy from the winter salt etc. my mates got a polo k reg low miles for sale should do the business. 8)

Sack that idea straight away!!!

Get yourself either a Valver :) or a Mk2 Gti 16v :D

Easily pick one up for a grand, just over. Both good cars, both have good resale prospects come the spring. I reckon you probably wouldnt loose a penny on either of them....assuming you paid the right price on day one.

IMO of course! :P

Best of luck.

I've just bought a R plate Astra 1.6 16v, 66k FSH for £1100. Ideal for winter run around and using back and forth to work to keep the miles off the williams.

Its nice to have a car you can park anywhere and not worry about. Williams will be used for weekends and special occasions from now on in.

LOL

Astra costs £500 fully comp insured with no no claims (no claims used on williams) but I think i'll prob save that in petrol alone not using the williams. Maybe a bit of wishful thinking there though but least the miles will be kept off my pride and joy :D

Probably rust more being sat than being run around in salt but being washed regularly.
Cars don't like standing.

Shitty diesel in the same sentence as 306? I may be offended once I finally get my shitty winter run about. :P

I have been quoted by adrian flux £988 TPFT on my own insurance, thats at 19 years old, 2 years NCB, and full pass plyus licence on a Williams 1 :) Well happy with that, but could get fully comp for £1600 on elephant :D We will wait and see but will probably go for the TPFT quote as since I am a student, I cant really afford the extra, will be struggling to afford running it once I pick it up :(

But I will :D
