View Full Version : K and N or Standard
What does everyone think works better?
My car has a KN but I'm considering fitting the standard filter, has anyone done this, is there any noticable difference?

Imo the k&n will work well with a good air feed as its gettin cooler now its near winter. Otherwise a standard box would be best. Summer was a killer for me with my piperx, but when it cooled down in the evenings it was noticabley quicker.

I ditched the K&N for a standard box and ITG panel filter. It's good.
Mervin like to talk my talk 8)
thats the way we do it round here lol
dunno about valvers, but on the Willy 2 live swapped mine for me a couple of winters ago on an icy day and it was much better with the airbox... now this could be down to the fact the airbox he gave me had a K&N panel filter and not the paper one, but tbh I think the airbox is a better design.
only advantage of having an open IK like a K&N is so you can give out those classic Subaru owner excuses for being smoked. "yeah, wait til winter mate when me turbo can get more cold air..."
get a standard airbox with an ITG, i had that on then i put a viper on and the viper wasnt as good as the airbox!
ITG panel
relocation I/K ....no better than an ITG, just sounds nicer :P
K+N THEN TAKE BONNIT OFF.. LOADS OF AIR FLOW THEN..
relocate the k+n to stick out the offside front wing! always cool air and alot of it! lol
Right I think ill keep the induction kit for the winter then, is it easy to relocate the IK, wheres a suitable location for it without it gettin caked in mud and shit from the road? Thanks
just rip out your nearside headlight, no need to relocate then n lots of air!haha!!
