Started to put my head on the engine and in the williams manual it says tighten to 2daNM
is there any difference between daNM & NM
as i cant find a torque wrench on ebay under £250 which does below 5NM

Just wondering if da was mayba a multiple there for 2daNM = 20NM

Any thoughts,
and has anybody else done a head gasket and not done it too the required torque settings??? Take it this is definatly not recommended?
Dont want to Pay £250 for a tool i will use once

2 Nm is bugger all mate. IMO this seems a low figure for the head bolts as these are supposed to be renwed every time, which suggests a tensile stress of more than 2Nm!!

You sure this figure is not for the rocker cover bolts? These would only need a low torque setting.

Strange, sorry I can't help further.

FT usually does the job!! :D

haynes says summat like 25nm then angle tighten, then untighten all, then 35nm, then angle tighten.

err check tho, dont take my word for it !

1 daNm = 10 Nm

Acording to this chart.

As arj256 says 1 daNm = 10 Nm i think it is a french way of expressing torque ie the unit of torque! Ive come across it at work when measuring torque on a torsion spring, the drawing of the spring coming from france! Also ive seen daN on drawings for compression and extension springs for the load measurements. As you can probably gather i work in a spring factory!! :wink:Therfore your torque is 20 Nm
