Hi guys.

I have just replaced my gearbox with a recon. And as such am looking to offload my old Willy 2 Gearbox.

It had done 91k and at the time of replacement, and the reason why it was swapped was due to a whinning diff. The syncro is spot on and selected all gears with ease. However it is due a rebuild.

Someone make me a sensible offer.

Will need to collect as its a tad too heavy to post. Comes with a TDC sensor too.

Thanks

Geoff. Feel free to email me on gclement@eurofs.co.uk as this is my work address and continually accessed.

Hi, right sorry for the delay.

Well after phoning seveal companies, it looks like a general figure for a complete rebuild is circa £300. Now i thought that that was a fairly high price, but when you think about a new recon box is a minimum of £450 then its not too bad, especially as you can get it for £60, and have prior knowledge to the history of the gearbox.

If your still interested then let me know. Failing that it will stay on ebay.

Thanks

Im sure all it will need are new bearings throughout. Not sure if you would need to replace the diff completely.

Come on guys £60!!! Belter of a price id say. Look at Parcel Force website and they reckon for a 30KG object your looking at around £28.85 postage plus 75 per KG over that. Which is delivered in 48 hours. Its the cheapest option going.

However if your impatient then by 9am the next day it will cost you £69.50.

So around a maximum of £130 delivered next day???....cant be too bad huh?

Thats £0.75 pence per KG over the 30.

so all it does is whine then?

Sorry for the very late reply, but thats all it does.

Can honestly say that prior to taking the box out, the only thing it did was whine. Changed gears as it should, didnt crunch second gear, or any gear for that matter. To which you can assume the synchro is in order.

I spoke to my local renault dealer and they reckoned that with ELF TRX 75-80 gearbox oil, its been known to quieten down a lot of gearbox's and their whining. Whether this is true or not i do not know. Just an opinion.

But i did purchase some today for my replacement box, so hopefully this will be ultra quiet when all is finished.

They only come in 0.5ltr form @ £2.71 each +vat. You need 7 of them by the way.

The box didnt go on ebay and hence i still have it. I would be willing to trade the box and the rad that i have for a half decent Cat Back System. If anyone wishes to contact me on this one please do so.

Cheers

:)
