Recently i've noticed that my oil pressure doesnt drop below 1 bar on idle anymore and i'm sure the bastard used to sit at 0 - it should do shouldn't it ???

sits at about 3 bar when on the move at about >70 mph

what could this mean... is something gonna die on me ??

cheers TriO`

better to sit at 1 bar on idle imo, although my rebuilt engine sits at 0 bar on idle with new oil pump, shells etc in it, but the crankshaft oil seal is leaking on the flywheel side so its coming out tomorrow and a lower milage one is goin in so i'll be selling that one soon to make some cash back as i'm skint!

Should be around 1 Bar at idle, then up at 3 Bar when giving it wellie.

Ofcourse these pressures are when the oil is up to temp (80 DegC). When cold the pressures will be higher.

Williams 3's seem to use the WHOLE range which is odd.. 0/1 at idle, 5/6 at full chat. 6 when cold idle, too.

Very odd.

Only happens on 3's too.. my 2 sits about 3 (or just above), and every other 1/2 I've been in does the same!

I think Renault connected the rev counter up to the oil pressure guage by accident or something on them.

wouldnt be suprised.
quiet shocked when i found out renault had rebuilt my engine and not left a screw in the head or left the cam belt off or some stupid stuff the do now and again

Mine is 6 when cold and driving and about 3 on idle
then once its warmed up around 1 idle and 3 to 4 depending on how much i boot it :)

And if i have been out with summy then i tend to turn the engine off and let it cool when the oil hits 0 on idle :S doesn't do that often tho lol only if you have been red lining it all night long :)

make and viscosity of oil naturally effects matters.....

as im running mineral oil on start up the prssure is very high.. untill warmed up...

ive used nearly every oil going, mineral is by far the best in my opinion.
lol
