Ive arranged for a Subaru specialist to do a full engineers report on the mintness of T's Scooby - he will value it in excess of £5k so you have good ammunition to fire at the insurance company if they make you a low offer - unless you find 1st it of course

i dare say he wont be able to have it back till later/tomorrow as it will require full soco examination: fibrelifts from seats, prints on steering wheel , dna swabbing... they'll look for fag butts in ashtray (i got a great lock up from dna found on a cigarette butt):- told you the willy would turn up.

you can either get it delocked and get new plipper, get new locks from matt brown etc.. thats asuming your keeping it...

northy
26-10-2005, 14:58
not had time to read your replys yet guys, but a quick update for u as ive borrowed a neighbours pc

they found NLRG around 10am this morning (rang me at 10.45) after a call from someone to alert the police it was parked outside there house and some lads kept coming past it repeatly.

the police came and arranged to transport it away (winched it onto a recovery truck appearntly) some lads ran away when the police came or something but tbh i carnt fully remember what they have said now. My head was a mess when they rang.

the car is apparently undamaged - but there idea of that and mine will be totally differant !

not informed the insurance yet as i want to see it for myself first. the family is on there way no while i wait for them with the spare keys.

the car will not be kept at wigan now until all locks are changed and the alarm either recoded or replaced with a blackjacx unit.

over the moon they have it - It was found in a place called newtown - a stones throw from pemberton where i live. so hopefully its not done too many more miles than the 83558 it was on when i left it.

Thanks so much guys - and i felt so tight when i rang Toni to tell her.

I hope they find yours soon.....still no news on her tracker though.

So it looks like mine was kept on this side street while they waited to see if the car was safe - unlucky for them there are still some good willed people left in this country and they informed the police.....THANK YOU SO MUCH who ever you are.

Bye for now guys - and i have my camera with me.

Wish me luck.

Might be worth organising a Group buy maybe on one of those Blacjack things, I know the boys on the Civic forum did them same, would be well worth it.

Shame about Toni's but I'd imagine it's in a similar situation, sat on a street somewhere waiting for signs of a tracker.

I had Blackjax on my Williams. Its basically a small keypad (2 buttons) of which you get a code. (ie. 2345).

You need to input this code using the number of presses on the keypad (ie. top button 2 times, then the space button, then top button 3 times, then the space button etc. etc.) Hard to explain but easy to use

Within 2 minutes of setting off in the car, or it cuts the fuel pump supply off, sounds the alarm and flashes the brakelights, rendering the vehicle pretty useless even if the thiefs have the carkeys.

Don't know why cars like these don't have a key pad immobiliser as standard. Had one on my 306 S16 and you need to imput a code before you can start it, so even if you have the key you still can't start it without the code!

cool, at least you have it back, let us know what the condition of it is like, and get one of those posts fitted to your driveway, the lockable ones that go into the floor. I have a clifford G5 on the car with a cat2 immob too and i park it funny so no one can get access to the car. Im fully aware people come with trucks with cranes and flatbeds to nick motors, also i keep my keys in my bedroom, its excessive but a must!

As there is still no news from the tracker company.

These are the pictures taken last night as the car has alot of evidence inside and cannot yet be collected.

In theory these work very well, and in practise too. My old dear had one for her Cherokee Jeep - on many occasions I had to sit through 10mins of ear battering whilst the alarm went off because she forgot to key the fob  what fun!! She had hers removed after a while because it became such a pain in the arse. I'm sure you guys will remember much better though

Northy, can i just ask mate, why exactly did the scum ****s park it up? And outside someones house

no idea mate.

there was two lads driving it in white tracksuits early wednesday morning, NLRG was parked up and locked around 1am outside someones house on a side street. The person saw two lads get out and run away. He reported the car at 10am the same day as he was witnessing supective behaviour around it.

The police (recovery firm) came and recovered it within 45 mins of it being reported.

I doubt the same people who broke in my house drove the car to themselves as there is alot of evidence left inside, where as the people who did my house were very professional.

glad u got it back rich........about the wrx, ive seen adverts for 'missing' or 'stolen' cars on ebay before, incase sumone tries to sell it on there, or even in the freeads.

Its worth a try i reckon, i saw a car the other day i quite liked, new id seen it before sumwhere then realised it was in autotrader. It only takes 1 person to make that connection and it could be back home safe and sound

(appologys if sumones already said this, only read the odd thread here and there)
