Is this worth doing or is there a beter kit for same money?
Also would they fit behind phase 2 Valvers wheels? I'm not ever changin the wheels by the way.
arj (adam) has them on his car, apparently they fit behind turbine, but not ph2 wheels, tbh i woudl spend the little extra and get 4 pots, will notice alot more difference
Don't think that kit will fit behind std ph2 wheels without 5mm spacers....
cheers Tony
Theres a few MM clearance on the Williams/ dynamic alloys so I'f think turbines will be fine. I'll measure them if you want tomorrow.
They fit behind turbons wiht no spacers, adam has turbins as track wheels and had no problems, as i said its only ph2 wheels thats the prob

if i put a 10mm spacer on, would that cause any handling issues?
They dont fit due to the width, does no one listen???
10mm spacers will improve your handling, but they STILL won't make the discs fit behind the ph2 wheels, the internal diameter of ph2 wheels is smaller than that of the ph1 wheels

bugger
Yup i have the 285mm Kit and as i found they dont fit :( the internal diameter of the ph2 valver wheels is too small so the caliper comes in contact with it.
What confuses me is i have seen them behind ph2 wheels

Im not sure what has been done. They fit under Turbines and other wheels hence why i want some Turbines
When i had the kit on my 1.2 with Pagid fast road pads:

It was great could easyly lock up compared to the 259mm set up on my valver. and the braking performance is better.
Could notice the passengers moving alot more.
Im not sure how they would compare to 4pots. but i bought mine cheap. as there new price is quite alot.
4 pots are superb next to those big disk kits the big disk heat up on track in a second and there useless.

no word from k-tec yet. so much for customer support
I wouldn't bother with those tbh, due to the cost, spend that little more and get 4 pots from mark, MUCH better

what discs do they run on? and how much?
Can run on std williams/valver discs, or can go for 280mm discs (172 size)
There was a geroup buy thread whihc i believe has prices in, if not do a search, come up enough times
Yeah the information about them is in the group buys section

silly q maybe but, would the willwood's fit the ktec discs or is that just silly?
Theres no point really as its 5mm bigger and your better off just getting the cheaper 172 discs

fair enough, sorry bout the q's but they would fit straight on rite?
fair enough, sorry bout the q's but they would fit straight on rite?
Probably but you'll crack them very very quickly.

crack the 172's?? was thinkin about getting drilled/grooved ones
Don't get drilled, they crack around the holes and it weakens the discs.
I would also stear away from grooved, as well as weakening the disc the only advantage is more initial bite, whihc wiht 4 pots isn't gonna be a problem, stick to teh cheaper and frankley better option

i take your advice with great appreciation :D
just gotta save a bit longer now
yeah, standard 172 280mm discs and some wilwood 4 pots seem to be the answer! (Just would look cooler with grooved / cross drilled!!!) I aint got em yet, but its on the shopping list!

thanks!
Just to revive this topic,
- can you definately buy the extension brackets on their own from k-tec?
- has anyone found another source for the discs?
- will the 285mm kit fit behind 172 ph1 wheels?
Cheers!
