Gaz's Valver - you all know how mint it is:

just done this to it:

Milage - 65,000
2 x New Hubs
2 x New Wheel Bearings
New Brembo Max Front Discs
New Pagid Blue Pads
New Radiator fan
Power Steering pump replaced
New N/S Front wing after someone door dinged me and cracked the plastic wing
Major Service 20th October (Cambelt service)
5 Months Tax
MOT April 06
Radio / Cassette
New Bulbs
Oil level sender fixed
cigarette lighter fixed
4 x New Tyres

Excellent car, took it to the south of France with no problems apart from the plastic fan falling off the spindle.

£2750 ono.

£1000 Spent on servicing and parts to maintain this excellent example in Standard condition.

I think this is a very fair price to ask for the condition, what do you think?

Overpriced IMO.

At the end of the day the market for valvers is set by age and mileage and I would even say that a late valver in A1 nick and low miles wouldn't be worth that.

However, this is just MO. I'd say £2k is fair.

The market for valvers seems to waver up and down though.

I would say that is low Williams money

2k most but that is still pushing it looking at the market.

yeah, overpriced, £2200 prolly more realistic as it is an absolute minter.

why you selling it so soon anyway, you seemed to be really enjoying it the other week!

personally mate i'd just keep it, I can't understand why you and Gaz want rid, it's a stunning low mile example! It's too mint and low mile to mod though I guess.

A tad overpriced IMHO. I'd advertise it for £2300 if it was my car.

I'd pay it, but then again I love valvers, if it was minter than mint then I think its a justified price.

I'm about to spend nearly a grand on restoration on mine, I know that even after all the work it won't be worth anything still, its pushing 100k now and the interior isn't exactly in wonderful condition..

I reckon over the next 3 years I'll have to spend around 4-5k making it spot on to my tastes, so why wouldn't someone pay half that amount for a ready made one with half the mileage?

bodywork!

Full respray, sunroof taken out totally and smoothed willy 1, 2 style, various bits and bobs like re-coding the strips and everything thats black, black - rust treatment and not decided on the de-locking yet!

just basically a full tidy up and a non leaking car - oh and the front and back glass are being swapped over for new un's..

Can't reveal too much put i'm hoping that i'll actually be happy to be seen out in it for once, shes an unkept slag at the moment i'm afraid.... :(

FlamingMonkey
21-10-2005, 16:16

if you looked at a williams for that money it would more than likely be a shed.

this IS mint.

as new LOL - but 12 years on.

agree, it's worth over £2k, the people that ask less for Willy's do so for 3 reasons usually:

1) they dont know what it's worth
2) it's battered and only worth that
3) their morons

Yeah but valvers are different. Price is governed more as per normal cars. i.e it a 12 year old car. mileage condition plays a small part yes.

at the end of the day, it's worth whatever someone pays, which could well be what you want.

Yes but ok I know its a few years ago now but I paid over 3k for my tatty valver as I knew what I was getting.. a quick un and a well mechanically looked after one If I wanted to buy a valver or a willy right now and had 3k in my pocket i'd buy that minter ^^^^^^^ and would be all too happy to recieve no change if need be.

I'd milk it for all its worth matey, tons of pictures showing the usual rough spots are mint, interior clean engine pics and just hold out to what you want SOMEONE will want it and pay for it, the problem for you is when!

Monkey: Patience Boi! :D

i paid 1400 for mine and its had a full rebuild 20k ago including gearbox and all engine mount, radiator, alternator, and starter motor

Tough one Yoz, same boat I was in when selling it....a lot of people tend to think it will be priced the same as any other Valver even though it's low miles full history and in immaculate condition.....some people don't relise that they will pay £500 quid for a Valver but will then cost them god knows how much to fix and get upto scratch as this one is.

And yes u can get a Willy for that kind of money but only for the reasons Jesus has mentioned.....there basically tatty and will cost u £1000's to get upto scratch.

That car has done approx 11,000 miles in the last 8 months and not missed a beat.
